SIAC is a large multi-disciplined construction group with significant operations across the United Kingdom, Ireland and Belgium that provides turnkey solutions to the building and civil engineering industries.

The mixed-use development with over 10 years lifespan, comprised of commercial (non-retail) use (c.24,259 sq.m gfa), 6no. retail units (c.1,764 sq.m gfa), a creche (c.765 sq.m gfa), a café / restaurant (c.400 sq.m), a management office suite (c.111 sq m gfa), and 560no. residential units, all of which was accommodated in 18 no. blocks ranging in height from 2 to 8 storeys.

Axiseng were responsible for all aspects of the mechanical and electrical systems as part of the Masterplan for this development.

Sustainability was a key focus for this project. The final energy systems and solution were designed to meet the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations (2008), detailed life-cycle cost analysis, reductions in total energy and CO2 production, energy grants available and planning permission.

Consideration was also given to the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requirements in relation to Alternative Energy Schemes and likely/forthcoming Local Authority Planning Energy requirements.
