We are delighted that one of our projects, the Airbnb Hanover Quay Office Fit-Out completed last year, recently won an industry-recognised award in the ACEI Engineering Design Excellence Awards.

We were shortlisted in the ‘Small M&E Projects’ Category (up to €2.5m construction value) along with Ethos Engineering and O’Connor Sutton Cronin.

The Airbnb HQ in Dublin Docklands was designed by Heneghan Peng Architects and completed by Bennett Construction.

 

Airbnb’s continued growth in the European market led the company to expand its Head Office space from the Watermarque Building to the Hanover Quay Warehouse, in the heart of Dublin City. The project consisted of a fit-out and coordination of the mechanical and electrical services design on three levels including full kitchen facilities, open plan office spaces, bicycle parking, meeting and training rooms, IT facilities and helpdesk, front reception lobby, library, staff areas, garden area and collaboration areas. Unlike the typical high-rise glazed commercial blocks in the Docklands area, the Airbnb offices at 8 Hanover Quay was developed within an existing warehouse, reflecting the heritage and style of the Docklands. It was also the first construction in the south Docklands since the area was designated as a Strategic Development Zone.

Another award-winning project we were involved in is the new Baggot Plaza office on Baggot Street Upper, Dublin 4. The project was voted the Building of the Year in the Office (Medium) category at the recent Building and Architect of the Year Awards 2017.

Commenting on the awards Frank McDonald, the judging coordinator for the awards said: ”The architecture discipline and all those shortlisted for the Building of the Year Awards have made real and tangible contributions to enriching the lives of those who live, work or relax in the buildings they have created as well as Irish society as a whole.”

The recently completed development on Baggot Street consists of 15,000 m2 of new office build including an underground car park and sub-basement level plant rooms.
